Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that this blog post will make your week even better.
Today is the big day for us. We've been cooking for a while to get this ready on time, and we delivered. If you're reading this blog post, that means one thing and one thing only:
Make a Pair is now out on itch.io!Go play it. We hope you'll have tons of fun. Leave us your feedback on itch, Discord, or any of our social media pages. We can't wait to read what you have to say about the game.
There are a few notes we want to let you know about.
First, this is a prototype build. We're primarily interested in knowing if the core gameplay loop is fun and functioning, and if you had a great time playing. The final version of the game won't necessarily have this theme, aesthetic, or look. We want to understand the things that are fun, those that aren't, and what ticks you off or makes you excited. It's a crucial phase for the project to really understand the game we've made and will continue to make in the future.
Second, the game works only on desktop for Firefox and Chrome. If you play on Safari, you might see some bugs and issues popping up; I can only recommend that you play on one of the other two browsers. Sadly, Safari isn't as advanced in terms of testing and debugging as the other two browsers, which creates all kinds of rendering issues.
Third, we're looking for all kinds of feedback and ideas. If you want to talk about how cool a sausage card could be, please: LET.US.KNOW! We're dying to hear about those. But even though we'll read all of your comments and be excited about all or some of those ideas, it won't mean that they'll be shipped in the final game. They might be tested and not be fun, or cut during production. They might make it to the final game as well! We never know, so be sure to talk about it loud and clear!
We made sure to call this a prototype build because this is just phase one. We'll have a demo later this year and more rounds of playtesting throughout the development of this game.
To make sure you don't miss any of those, you can join our Discord or join our brand-new newsletter! We'll send these blog posts directly to your inbox in the coming weeks, and you'll be aware of what's coming up for the game. If you think that's a good idea and you're interested, feel free to register!
With all of that said… GO PLAY THE GAME!
See you next week, when we'll debrief on the feedback we've received so far.
